Perimeter fence lines and external baiting zones
Selontra® Soft Bait Rodenticide is a highly effective and innovative rodent bait designed to rapidly control rodent infestations. Powered by a non-anticoagulant active ingredient, Selontra delivers fast results while offering a favourable environmental profile compared to traditional rodenticides.
Formulated as a highly palatable and stable soft block, Selontra ensures strong bait uptake even in the presence of competing food sources. The active ingredient is neither persistent nor bioaccumulative, making it a safer and more sustainable alternative to first and second-generation anticoagulants.
Non-anticoagulant active ingredient that does not bioaccumulate
Rapid control, up to three times faster than anticoagulant rodenticides
Stop-feeding effect reduces bait wastage and improves cost efficiency
Highly palatable formulation ensures strong uptake even with competing food sources
Lower risk of secondary poisoning to non-target animals
Suitable for use on and off buildings, including perimeter fence lines
Durable and stable under extreme environmental conditions
Reduces risk of stock and feed contamination
Contains 0.75 g/kg Cholecalciferol
Selontra contains cholecalciferol, a non-anticoagulant active ingredient that works differently from traditional rodenticides. Once consumed, it disrupts calcium regulation in rodents, leading to rapid mortality.
Selontra provides control up to three times faster than anticoagulant rodenticides and includes a stop-feeding effect, meaning rodents cease feeding shortly after consuming a lethal dose. This reduces bait wastage and improves overall control efficiency.
Because the active ingredient is not persistent or bioaccumulative, Selontra presents a significantly lower risk of secondary poisoning compared to anticoagulants. Studies have shown non-target species such as birds, cats and dogs are far less sensitive to cholecalciferol exposure.
Selontra Soft Baits must be placed within secure, tamper-resistant bait stations. Select bait locations along rodent runways, feeding areas and zones showing signs of activity.
Eliminate alternative food sources where possible to maximise bait uptake. Establish a baiting program that creates a barrier between feeding and harbourage areas.
For rats: place 3–9 soft baits per bait station
For mice: place 1–2 soft baits per bait station
Space bait stations 2–3 metres apart for mice and wider intervals for rats
Inspect bait stations after 3 days and again after 4 days to monitor activity
For heavy infestations, continue inspections at 7-day intervals until activity ceases
Replace consumed bait as required until full control is achieved
Selontra provides rapid population knockdown and ongoing control when used as part of a structured baiting program.
Its stop-feeding effect and high palatability ensure efficient bait use and reduced reapplication requirements.
Selontra offers a modern, non-anticoagulant approach to rodent control, combining fast action, high palatability and improved safety.
Its reduced environmental impact, lower secondary poisoning risk and superior performance make it a leading solution for professional pest management.
What makes Selontra different from anticoagulant rodenticides? It uses a non-anticoagulant active ingredient that does not bioaccumulate and works faster.
How quickly does it work? It can control rodents up to three times faster than traditional anticoagulants.
Is it safer for non-target animals? Yes, it has a significantly lower risk of secondary poisoning.
Where should it be used? In bait stations placed in areas of rodent activity, both indoors and outdoors.
